Get to know Me

Corporate Wellness Speaker.   Clinical Nutritionist.   Menopause Lifestyle Mentor

Hello, I’m Alex.

As a qualified nutritionist, yogi, wellness speaker and women’s menopause lifestyle mentor, I have come to realise that there’s no one silver bullet to fix us or improve our health.

We have to start somewhere and get curious about what works and what doesn’t.

We have to take a long-term, holistic approach to our well-being. And that is how I am interested in helping you.

Are you tired of feeling overwhelmed, faulty or invisible?

Do you need the guidance of someone who has been there and understands you?

Do you want to reclaim your life?

Do you want optimal support for your body's health?

So what can I do for you?

Alex's Blog

Come on in and get cosy learning a few new things about how you can look after
yourself! My Blog is the place I explore nutrition, gut health, hormone health, weight
management, menopause, perimenopause, different types of movement, yoga,
lifestyle practices and everything in between!

In the quest to improve my own health, I’ve invested time, money, educated myself
and tried many different protocols. I’ve become passionate about using an approach
that is Pro-Active rather than Reactive. By that, I mean implementing daily practices
that support a preventative lifestyle rather than waiting until ill health sets in and
reacting to put out the fires. There is a place for modern medicine, and it is
awesome in the right instances, but our bodies were not designed to be medicated
with drugs on a long-term basis.

I want to walk you through the joy (and at times frustration!) of carving out a life that
is meaningful, wellful and pleasurable. The catalyst is often when we get sick (that
reactionary approach I was talking about) but I want to encourage you to start now.
Preventative daily lifestyle practices. It’s never too late to change.

My passion for nutrition, using food as medicine, implementing certain lifestyle
practices, the healing power of yoga and musings about the hormonal transition of
peri to post menopause is what you will find in my blog. I love exploring these
subjects particularly as they have helped me travel this journey to menopause and
arrive relatively intact. (Don’t worry I’ve had my share of medial, emotional, physical
and mental doozies!)

I’ve learnt so much about what our body needs to thrive and gained a new level of
respect to support it. And you know what? The basics are not difficult or
complicated. So strap in and get excited peeps! Even one “A-Ha” moment can
make a difference!

Nutrition

Are you aware of how much fibre you're eating daily and how much you need? Gut health, removing toxic waste, reducing chronic disease risk and supporting metabolic health! Fibre is important! Think fruit and veges, legumes, wholegrains, nuts and seeds - there's lots of ways to incorporate fibre into your daily diet.

"What I’ve discovered is that generations of women are now missing out on the key basic knowledge about how to take care of themselves in the lead up to and post menopause.  This is where we all need to start, before we get lost in medical intervention, expensive tests and self loathing."
